New Year's Eve 2015...2016!

It's the last blog post of the year!
I'm excited for what God has in store for 2016. I have a lot of ideas and plans that I pray come to fruitition this new year. P.S. God's mercy is new everyday, not just every year. We can come to him with boldness. :)

So, I was so excited about my outfit for this evening, that I forgot to edit my photos. :( I will add them later and you tell me what you think? :) Here are some photos I snapped before celebrating and welcoming 2016!

Have a blessed time! <3

"Sparkles + Lace"

It's almost the end of the year, how time flies! Seems like it was just yesterday that I was celebrating New Year's, sick, in bed, on Facebook. :P God willing this year I'll have a better time. :) Even though Christmas is over, I'm still feeling sparkly and festive. I decided to pair this lace crop top with this sequin ruffle tank. I loved how the contrasting textures looked together. Do you?

I <3 Jesus // How to Lengthen Long Sleeves // UPDATED 2/9/16

This is my SECOND refashion this month. I am seriously lagging on my sewing this month. It's probably because of all the festivities this season. Also, I just want to stay cuddled up in bed because of the cold LOL.

So here is my second tutorial. I got this top which had awkward length sleeves. YIKES!

UPDATE 2/9/16: So I had refashioned this top with lace inserts in the sleeves and a red rounded hem. I wasn't super crazy about it, so I refashioned my refashioned design. :)

1. I cut off the red piece.
2. I cut two pieces of long lace.
3. I overlapped the two pieces and sewed them together.
4. That piece was then sewed onto the shirt.

Mary Christmas!

"Mary" Christmas from my sewing desk to yours! I hope you all have "sew" much fun and have a blessed time with all your loved ones.

In the busy and crazy moments during the holidays, it's easy to forget the real reason behind the season. JESUS! God gave us the best and greatest gift of all.  Eternal life in abundance. Let's (including myself) meditate on John 3:16 and guard that promise in our hearts. And most importantly, accept God's gift. :)

You Can't Catch Me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!

Do you have a favorite Christmas character? I do!! He's the gingerbread man! :D I actually don't even know when I started liking him, I just always have. Don't get me wrong though, I love everything Christmas.
Yesterday consisted of a posada (Mexican holiday tradition). It was packed and cold, but overall great. In the end we received hot chocolate, pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), tamales, and a very generous food basket.  My husband actually ended up making a delicious chicken dinner with rice and beans from ingredients in the food basket. :)

Falling Behind

Wow, it seems I'm falling behind on getting these blog posts up. Or maybe I'm just too busy? Or maybe I've just been frozen and have just been wanting to wrap myself in my blanket. I feel like I'm always cold, 24/7, nonstop. Nevertheless, I gotta look cute LOL :D.

Today consisted of a Christmas event in my town and a family party. I was pretty much wrapped up my coat the whole time, since I am always freezing.

Just Trust in God

Today my husband and I had our first flat tire, but it was all in all a great day! :D Sometimes we just have to learn to roll with the punches. We can just trust God that everything will be okay. So today I went to a Christmas event in a local town, and to dinner at a delicious restaurant called "Rivi's" in Oakdale. If you ever have a chance, do check it out. You won't be disappointed, promise! :D

"Holiday Cocktail Party" // Crop Top to Dress Refashion

It's the start of the holiday season! (Ha! Who are we kidding, some of us started holiday festivities even before Thanksgiving, right?) I absolutely fell in love with this dress, and it just screams "holiday party!" The top part of the dress came from a crop top I got off  Yerdle (brand new!), and the bottom  part of the dress is a beautiful Bengaline fabric. My favorite part of the dress is the bow on the back. What's yours? You be the judge. :)

I made  this tutorial on how to make a circle skirt.

Then, I attached the top to the skirt. Afterwards, I sewed on elastic.

You can check out the  Ballet Beauty dress to see another example of how to attach a shirt to a skirt, to make a dress! :)

Lastly, I finished the seams on the circle skirt with hem tape.  Here are three ways to finish the seams on a circle skirt/dress/etc.
