Mary Christmas! // Style Diary

Mary Christmas!
Haha, yes every year I wait to say that. :) This year I decided to go with a really girly and pastel look. My mom got me this Wildfox blouse and I love it. Santa riding on a unicorn! I wanted to make the look really girly so I paired it with my pink tulle skirt, white booties, and of course some frilly lace trim socks! My pearl choker was thrifted a few weeks back, and I thought it was the perfect occasion to wear it.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday (whatever you choose to celebrate), surrounded with loved ones. Remember the most important thing is not just that Christ was born, but that He lives and He loved (and loves!) us so much that He gave us eternal life. God bless everyone!

"This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is found in his Son." (JESUS!)

Christmas Eve Eve // Style Diary

It's Christmas Eve Eve! Haha, to me the 23rd was always considered "Christmas Eve" to me since all my Christmas celebrations occurred on the 24th, not the 25th.When I spent my Christmas holidays in Mexico, we would have a big celebration on the 24th and the next day, we would all gather and eat the leftovers from the night before. So every time the 25th arrives, I always feel like Christmas is over haha. Anyways, today I'm just lounging in my comfortable pajamas. It's really cold and gloomy outside, so staying indoors today feels extra cozier. I'm all cuddled up with my hot cocoa and my festive stuffed animals.

Hashtag Blessed // Style Diary

Wow, five days until Christmas already? But who's counting? Haha. ;)
I can't believe the year is almost over. I'm so excited for 2017! I've got my planner ready to start it off right. The one thing I don't have planned is what I'm doing for New Year's. It could be either lounging in my pajamas baking cookies or getting all dolled up and going out. I'm still unsure haha. I do know one thing though: God was, is, and will be in control this new year! This is the time of year that many start to make plans for the new year or resolutions. Sometimes though, we (yes I mean myself too) forget to place God first in those plans.

"Trust the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
- Proverbs 3:5-6

This verse is so reassuring! If we just simply TRUST God with everything, it will all be okay. This all sounds good and cheery until something goes wrong, right? In the verse He tells us to not rely on our own understanding. Can you imagine how small our understanding and wisdom is compared to God's? It's literally mindblowing! We just simply have to TRUST. Even when it seems like the whole world is falling apart. We must trust and submit our ways to God. Instead of saying, "I WILL do this," say "If God permits, I will do this."

Happy December + Rant/Life Update // Style Diary

Oh my, it's December already! I've already got my calendar full of fun for this month. Going out and having fun means picking out some festive outfits as well! I'm currently picking out my favorites for this month's festivities and posting them soon. I haven't done any refashions so far, because I just got a new job and I'm trying to make a new schedule. Trying to juggle everything at once gets hard sometimes. I also want to start seriously selling my designs. I've sold some in the past through my online consignment boutique, BeeBee Boutique, but I want to sort of separate my designs into a different store to themselves. I also have new ideas for the new coming year, so stay tuned. :)

Goodbye Autumn // Style Diary

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like fall ends once December starts? Even though technically winter doesn't start until December 21, I always feel like it instantly starts in December. So to say goodbye to fall, I wore my most "fall-ish" blouse. Autumn leaves, pumpkins, and multiple shades of orange! This season seemed to just fly by this year. I can't believe fall isn't until next year again! Next season to conquer: winter. :) I'm so ready for Christmas time outfits!

Autumn Garden // Refashioning a Refashion

I refashioned this plain brown tee about a year ago,  here, but I wasn't 100% happy with it. I decided to refashion it with a small detail and I was finally happy with it. I tend to refashion my own refashions. That's why I love clothing. There are endless possibilities!

I didn't like the short sleeves on this tunic. So I added bell sleeves in matching fabric.

1. I cut out the sleeve piece on the fold.

2. I sewed it closed and made a gathering stitch on the top.

3. I pinned it (inside out) to the existing short sleeve.

4. Bell sleeve was now attached.

5. Lastly, I added a brown lace trim to hide the seam.

TA DA!
