How to Add a Lace Panel (To Shirts, Skirts, Dresses, etc) No Serger Needed!

Who doesn't love lace?!
I will show you how to add a lace panel to just about anything you can dream of.
It's super easy & I use this technique all the time.
Plus, no serger needed!

1. Cut out your lace panels as shown. I like to cut mine on the fold.

2. Grab both the lace & fabric together, and fold down. (Right sides of fabric together!)
Leave the opening untouched, as shown.

3. Zig zag stitch all around, but leave the opening alone for now.

4. Now you will close off the opening by first closing off the lace, therefore making a panel. To do this, simply fold over twice & zig zag stitch. You can't really see it in this photo (Sorry about that!), but you can see what I'm talking about in the area circled. THEN, fold down the lace & fabric, and sew down.

5. It will look like this:

TA DA!
