Since Sew Much Love, Mary is a modest fashion blog, whether it be the refashions, sewing projects, ootd's, etc, I strive my best to make everything modest. I know some people have different ideas of what modesty is. To some modesty is wearing sleeves down to the elbows & skirts to the ankle, and to others modesty is wearing a tank top with thick straps and knee length capris. The last thing I want to do on my blog is argue. That's the last thing God wants too. God loves it when His children are united and get along as true brothers and sisters in Christ (Psalm 133:1). Everyone's walk with God is different. We all have a different path already set out by God, but in the end we are all working and striving towards the same goal (Philippians 3:13-14).
What does God say about modesty? Well, let's take a look at what the Word of God tells us about modesty in...
>> 1 Timothy 2: 9-10 <<
"I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God."
>> 1 Peter 3: 3-4 <<
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."
My goal is to inspire, have fun, and meet other sisters who love God (and fashion!) from all around the globe. Oh, and the best outfit you can wear? Check out Galatians 3:27!
