2017 Scrap Busting Craft Challenge: February "Heart Pouch"

It's Craft Challenge time again! I always associate hearts with the month of February, so I wanted to make a heart shaped something for this month's Scrap Busting Craft Challenge. This month's material was... zippers! I have a bagful of these little blue zippers. As I was scrolling through Pinterest, I saw a tutorial for a cute little heart pouch. It's perfect for that loose change, earbuds, or chapstick laying around in your purse. The original tutorial can be found  here. It's a well written and thorough tutorial. I also used  this tutorial. It's best to read through both of them while making this cute little pouch. I think I'll end up making more of these, since they were fun and easy to make!

The Lord Remains King Forever And Ever... No Matter How Much We Complain

So I'm back to hand lettering, and I'm nowhere as near as good, but I decided to keep on practicing. Practice makes perfect! I still remember the first time I sat down in front of a sewing machine. I didn't know what I was doing and I failed miserably. Now, I can pretty much sew whatever I want to. (But don't expect a couture gown from me anytime soon haha!)

"The Lord will rule as King forever and ever."
-Exodus 15:18

The bible declares God as king over all, various times throughout. His reign is and will be forever and evermore. What we do doesn't change who He is. Who we are doesn't change who He is. Nothing changes who God is and the fact that He reigns over all. The Israelites constantly complained to God about their situation. Even in this same chapter, they complained. At the beginning of Exodus, chapter 15, they were singing to the Lord a song of praise. Just a couple verses down (verse 24),  they were complaining because they didn't have water to drink. I know I speak for myself when I say that many times we complain to God. It's easy to praise Him when life is going good and in your favor. But, when life throws you a curveball, it's not so easy.

We make Him so small when we complain to Him. When we complain, it's like telling God, "I don't like your plan, I don't trust you, I want to do it this way instead." This is when we need to blindly 100% place our faith and trust in God. We must remember that no matter how much we complain to God, He is still King. He is still good. He is still God. The God who shaped you with His own hands is the same One who rules forever and ever.

Pink Sparkles // Style Diary

Late blog post! This was an eventful weekend, so I didn't get the chance to post anything until now. I went to a wedding this past Saturday and wore one of my favorite dresses. I don't wear it as often, since it's so sparkly and I only save it for special occasions. I first wore this dress here. Next time, I want to try it with a skirt extender and some type of pink bow heels. Okay so, I didn't actually wear the flower crown that's in the first photo. I just thought it matched and it looked nice haha. :)

"God is Love" Day Lookbook AKA Valentine's Day Lookbook Part 1

This week I am featuring Valentine's Day inspired outfits. But I like to call it "God is Love" day. :) Valentine's Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. Even when my elementary school days of Valentine's parties were long gone, I always loved this time of year. It's not even the fact that I had a special someone to celebrate it with. I mean, I didn't date anyone all through high school haha! In fact, it wasn't until my last year of college that I started dating my now husband. Back then I liked the day because cute little stuffed animals, all the pinks and reds, and all the glitter decorations! :) Now I understand a deeper meaning to the word love. The bible clearly says that God is love. It also says, "And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love." (1 Cor. 13:13) So, if we have love we have God, and that is the greatest "thing" we can have! If we have God, we have everything we need. :) So this is why I call it "God is Love" day instead. Even though we know that God is love EVERYDAY.

For the first part of my lookbook, I wanted to feature pieces with subtle hints of "Valentine's Day." Below are the details of each outfit.
