My Life as of Lately...

My sewing machine has been collecting dust this week. :(
I am in the process of moving, and it's such a pain. I had no A/C at my previous place, so it was an even bigger pain. I'm glad to be out though! I am trying to sew ASAP, but we'll see. Another thing going on in my life right now is my business. I want to sell refashioned clothing that I make, AND sell some outfits that are featured in my "Style Diary" posts.

So to relax for a bit, I went shopping and spent some time at a local cafe, LaMo. Tasty pastries & sweet drinks equals perfection. Take a look for yourselves. :)

Pomegranate green tea...

& a latte. :)

"Casual Sunday + A Small Reminder"

It's Sunday again?
Wow, times flies when you're having fun. :)
Anyways, I opted for a really casual Sunday today. I see a fashion show every Sunday, since most people really love to dress up. Don't get me wrong, I love dressing up too & dressing up for God. Sunday's best right?

Today's casual outfit was a small reminder that if we can dress up, we are blessed. Not everyone has 50 skirts in their closet + an additional 50 pairs of heels. (Geez, even I don't LOL). I know some people who don't even have dress clothes. I remember a Yerdle fund set up for people who didn't have dressy/business clothes for interviews, so that tells ya something. Even you reading this right now might not have "church clothes" in your closet right now. But let this be a reminder that the clothes don't make the Christian, and the real "church clothing" is mentioned in Galatians 3:27.

"Lace + Stripes"

Today's combination just popped up out of nowhere.
I wanted to wear these lace shorts, but was having difficulty finding the right top.
I literally just grabbed it out of my drawer, since I was running out of times for pics. :P
I was heading off to Long Beach today, so I wanted something fresh and summery.
(Ya know before the fall season hits us)

"Bohemian Fall" // Quick Refashion

Hello again!
So today's is a quick refashion, but it made all the difference.
You see the awkward elastic in the before photo?
I don't know, I just wasn't feeling nor having it LOL.

1. I grabbed my seam ripped and took off the elastic.

A closer look...

2. The edge of the shirt was already finished, so I just measured the bottom to cut out my lace.

3. Since I didn't have enough lace to cut out one big panel, I cut two. Just divided the measurement from step 2, plus seam allowance.

4. I sewed both pieces together.

5. I sewed all around and overlapped the two lace pieces.

You can barely see it, but they're overlapping.

6. This is how the inside of the shirt looks. Clean, cut, and finished edges. :D
I sewed it on how I would sew a lace panel.

TA DA!!

This top will fit right in for the fall season as well :)

The Meaning of True Revival

How many times do you see someone post about coming back from a revival, or going to a revival?
These events are not bad, and I am not talking against these in any way.
After all, there is never a bad time to praise & worship God, or hear a Word of God.
Sometimes, God will even use these events to give our spirit a breath of fresh air.

The problem is when a person fully depends on these types of events, or just any certain moments/days, to feel a revival from God.

//
"Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?"

PSALM 85:6

"He will enliven us after two days; on the third day He will raise us up, and we will live in His presence."

HOSEA 6:2
//

In our Christian life, we may have dry seasons where we feel tired, desperate, and even near death.
The good news is that we can feel energized once again with through Christ, and only Christ.

"If we have the resurrected Christ, we are in the morning, the sunrising, and this is a real revival to us." (The Holy Word for Morning Revival: The Need for a New Revival, pg. 7)

"Chevron Cutie" Style Diary

Truth be told, I don't usually wear flower crowns out in the public.
I actually got this one in 2012 & have worn it out once, maybe twice?
I decided to let it see sunlight today, for church. :)

"90's Kid" Style Diary

90's kids this, 90's kids that.
Sheesh, did we ever think that term was going to end up being so popular when we were kids?
I was too preoccupied with my Saturday morning cartoons, glow in the dark stars on my ceiling, and Blockbuster movies to think about such a thing.
What a great time... :)
